PUMP PATIENT UPDATE:
Gosy & Associates will be continuing to assist our PUMP patients in our office. Those previously scheduled appointments with our practice for a PUMP refill or PUMP adjustment are still standing.
Gosy & Associates is pleased to announce that its providers will begin to see patients again Monday, May 16. Office staff will contact patients to re-schedule canceled appointments. Due to restrictions placed upon him by government authorities, Dr. Gosy will not be able to treat pain patients, but the nurse practitioners and physician’s assistant in the group will be treating patients requiring pain management.
Dr. Gosy would like to thank the New York State Department of Health, the New York State Medical Society, Buffalo Hospice, and Medical Liability Mutual Insurance Company for their efforts to expedite the necessary arrangements for patients to resume treatment at Gosy & Associates. Dr. Gosy would also like to express his gratitude to Drs. Nancy Nielsen, Christopher Kerr, and Robert Milch. These three physicians have agreed to be available to our mid-level providers for consultations about patient care, until we find a more permanent solution. In a remarkable demonstration of service, these doctors are lending their decades of experience for the good of our patients and the general public health.
We regret the hardship that our temporary closure has caused our patients. Any suggestion that Dr. Gosy abandoned his patients is false and misleading. In fact, government authorities made it impossible for us to see patients by requiring Dr. Gosy, the medical director and supervising physician of Gosy & Associates, to surrender his DEA license. This caused both public and private health insurers to terminate Dr. Gosy from their networks, creating yet another road block between Dr. Gosy and his patients.
All of this occurred because of allegations made against Dr. Gosy, none of which has been proven. Dr. Gosy denies any wrong doing. He looks forward to the opportunity to defend himself and his practice.
Gosy & Associates Pain and Neurology Treatment Center coordinates pain treatment plans that are individually designed for each of our patients.
Our goals are to:
• Treat, if possible, the source of pain
• Promote healthy activities and preventative care
• Return patients to the most functional and productive lifestyle possible
• Coordinate multidisciplinary approaches
• Provide cost effective care and minimize reliance on health care resources
